Celebrating the Life of Patty Sherman
Family and friends of Patty Sherman gathered together on the evening of Saturday, January 22, 2022 both via Zoom and in-person at the Seattle Yacht Club to celebrate and honor Patty's well-lived life. During the ceremony, guests heard stories from Patty's children, brother and dear friends, all of whom spoke glowingly of Patty's fabulous cooking skills, and her love of travel (which she often did with the intention of learning to cook the foods of her chosen destinations) as well as her talents for creating beautiful spaces in her work as a home designer and builder. Guests were treated to the sounds of Seattle harpist Monica Schley playing Song Sung Blue, a tune by Neil Diamond, (one of Patty's musical favorites) and a slideshow set to Time to Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli, another favorite. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a fantastic meal featuring regional Northwest cuisine prepared by the talented SYC executive chef, followed by dessert featuring Patty's favorite Coconut Cake from TM Dessert Works in Seattle. By all accounts, it was a lovely evening of celebration and a fitting tribute to Patty's life and legacy.
