Celebrating Cindy

On a beautiful July afternoon, family and friends of Cindy Davis gathered at Golden Gardens Bathhouse on Shilshole Bay in Seattle to celebrate Cindy's beautiful soul and honor the role she played in their lives. We at Epic Memorials feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to bring to life exactly what Cindy asked for before she died. Cindy thoughtfully shared with her family what she would like when it came to honoring her life: a summer party in Seattle with her favorite people, good food and good drink, and even suggested it be held at Golden Gardens Bathhouse on Shilshole Bay- a place she often passed through on her runs. Cindy chose this location because she wanted out of town guests to get to experience the beauty of Seattle during summer.

Mother Nature provided the glorious blue sky backdrop Cindy ordered and Epic Memorials took care of the rest, partnering with On Safari Foods to honor her request for delicious food and drink, including Cindy's favorite dessert, carrot cake. Cindy's love of wild flowers was reflected in the arrangements used to brighten the Bathhouse, as well as in the choice of memorial gift for guests- a custom designed packet of lupine seeds with instructions to plant them with CIndy's love for nature in mind. Tears were shed as guest speakers shared stories of Cindy's deep love of the outdoors, her passion for her role of Girls Scout Leader and her dedication to her family while later, hearts were warmed when Cindy's family closed the ceremony singing together her favorite campfire song.

Family and friends of Cindy Davis will gather to honor Cindy's wish for a celebratory party in her honor on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at Golden Gardens Bathhouse in Seattle, a location thoughtfully  selected by our honoree. Doors will open at 3:30pm for a 4:00pm ceremony lovingly created by Cindy's husband Jeff and her children Emily & Will, who invite you to join them afterwards for sharing favorite stories of Cindy over good food and good drink, just as she wanted! If you intend to join the celebration, please let us know using the RSVP button below.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation in Cindy's memory to Friends of CASA . After she retired, Cindy worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the King County dependency system, who are often abused, neglected, and generally in challenging situations. It was hard, emotionally draining work, but she took to it naturally and became a great advocate for her kids. Eventually, she also became a board member for Friends of CASA King County, an organization dedicated to supporting the children and the work CASA’s do. We know Cindy would appreciate donations to Friends of Casa King County, as they are an under-supported organization, who are highly deserving and the donations go straight to therapy/legal services/housing/tutoring/clothing/toys for the children.
